Moonlight Color Harmony

Painting a scene under the moonlight requires a little research. Moonlight is not bluish as frequently rendered but slightly redder then sunny daylight. Photographers like to take pictures of moonlit scenes with white balance set to 4100K.

This artwork was painted with gouache on a 12x16 in watercolor paper.

Painting with the Vista Paint Club

Our Wednesday weekly meeting at the Brengle Terrace complex was very productive. Several of us have completed art projects and they look beautiful!

The Vista Paint Club meets at 1200 Vale Terrace Dr, Vista, CA 92084. Phone (760) 726-1340. We meet every Wednesday from 9:00-11:30 AM. Everybody is invited to come to observe, ask questions, or join the club. We paint in oil, watercolor, gouache, acrylics, and charcoal.  Also, the second Wednesday of every month from 9:00-10:45 AM, we have a structured art lecture and guided painting exercises integrating advanced realistic painting methods presented by a seasoned local artist. Everybody is welcome to attend.

Here is my painting using gouache on Strathmore 140lb cold press watercolor paper.
